Bio
Compositore, polistrumentista, cantante, performer. Musicista legato al mondo dell’arte nella sua totalità, alla sperimentazione sonora, all’elettronica ed alla ricerca multimediale. Andrea Senatore aka Cynic inizia a studiare pianoforte a 7 anni e successivamente si dedica anche allo studio della chitarra e delle percussioni. Alla fine degli anni novanta, affascinato sempre più dalle infinite possibilità offerte dall’elettronica, compra il suo primo sintetizzatore, riprende gli studi di armonia e comincia a produrre una serie di lavori sperimentali che gli permettono di iniziare una lunga e tuttora attiva collaborazione con alcuni registi e produttori cinematografici del panorama indipendente italiano.
Nel 2006 fonda Scientist&Cynic: progetto dalla spiccata natura electro/pop. Nel 2007 l’album debutto di Scientist&Cynic,“Primatoid”, ottiene ottimi riscontri dal pubblico e dalla critica, in Italia e all’estero. Il brano Far From me, scritto da Andrea, viene inserito nella compilation “Soundsation” edita in collaborazione con la Sony/BMG. Lo stesso brano vince il prestigioso concorso Demo Rai e viene trasmesso per un anno intero su Rai radio Uno. Il pezzo The quiet Gnome , invece, viene utilizzato dall’etichetta di Los Angeles Stroboscopic Records e dalla net-label Muertepop. Nello stesso anno inizia un’attiva collaborazione col violoncellista Giovanni Sollima, si esibisce con il rumorista Andrea Martignoni e il video artista Saul Saguatti. Ha partecipato a seminari e workshop con alcuni dei più grandi nomi della musica elettronica colta (tra gli altri: Giorgio Nottoli, Giuseppe Di Giugno, Lybin Dmitry ecc.).
Nel 2008 debutta con l’etichetta Recycle Records (Irma) per la quale rilascia un Ep: “Fractal”.
Nel 2010 consegue il diploma di specializzazione in “Musica Applicata alle nuove Tecnologie” presso il conservatorio “N. Piccinni” di Bari.
Nel 2011 pubblica l’Ep “4 Types of Me”(Miraloop Records), i remix “Chicago”(Recycle Records), “Thrills”(Miraloop Records) e “Falling”(Miraloop Records)e compone la colonna sonora del video “Pompei città da scoprire” (regia di Francesco Domenico D’Auria): opera audiovisiva scelta dalla regione Campania per rappresentare la città di Pompei al BIT (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo) 2011.
Pubblica, su Recycle Records, Polar e Oresund: la prime due parti di una trilogia dedicata alla Scandinavia.
Nel 2012 entra a far parte del roaster Minus Habens Records che pubblica il suo nuovo album “De/Nucleo”: disco nato dall’incontro con Giovanni Sollima.
Attualmente collabora con i Radiodervish: suoi gli inserti elettronici presenti su “Human” il nuovo disco della band uscito il 5 febbraio 2013 su Sony Music.
Si è esibito con Nabil Bey e Michele Lobaccaro all’anteprima nazionale del progetto “Cuore Meridiano”. Ha partecipato e suonato allo showcase catanese per la presentazione di “Human” con Franco Battiato.

Andrea Senatore aka Cynic is a composer, a multi-instrumentalist, a performer and a singer. A musician involved in art in different ways from sound experimentation to multimedial research. Andrea Senatore started to take piano lessons at the age of 7. He eventually studied guitar and drums. In the late 90′s, charmed by the many possibilities offered by electronic music, he bought his first synth, he took up again the study of harmony and begun to record experimental works that gained him the attention of independent movie directors and producers, with whom he has since collaborated.
In 2006 he founded Scientist&Cynic, an electro/pop project. The duo made their debut in 2007 with the album “Primatoid”, a work praised by the critics and the public on the local and international music scene. The song Far From Me, written by Andrea, was included in the compilation “Soundsation” released in collaboration with Sony/BMG, meanwhile the song The Quiet Gnome was used by Los Angeles label Stroboscopic Records and from the net-label Muertepop. The song Far From Me also won the topnotch competition Demo Rai and consequenly the track was aired for one year on Rai radio Uno. In that same year Andrea started an active collaboration with cello player Giovanni Sollima and played with the noise maker Andrea Martignoni and video artist Saul Saguatti. He has participated in workshops and seminars with some of the biggest names in classical electronic music (among others: Giorgio Nottoli, Giuseppe Di Giugno, Lybin Dmitry etc.).
In 2008 he released “Fractal”: his debut with the label Recycle Records (Irma records).
In 2010 he obtained a diploma in “Music applied to new technologies” at the conservatory “N.Piccinni” in Bari.
In 2011 he released the Ep “4 Types of Me”(Miraloop Records)and the remixes “Chicago”(Recycle Records), “Thrills”(Miraloop Records)and “Falling”(Miraloop Records. In that same year he also composed the soundtrack of the video “Pompei città da scoprire” (director Francesco Domenico D’Auria, soundtrack Andrea Senatore)which has been selected to represent the city of Pompeii @ BIT (International tourism exchange) 2011 in Milan.
He released Polar (Recycle Records) and Oresund (Recycle Records): the first two parts of a trilogy dedicated to Scandinavia.
In 2012 he signed with Minus Habens Records. On November 30th, Minus Habens released his new album “De/Nucleo” which is the result of his collaboration with the cello player Giovanni Sollima.
He currently works with Radiodervish playing electronic inserts on their new album “Human” released on 5th February 2013 by Sony Music.
He has performed with Nabil Bey and Michele Lobaccaro at the premiere of the project “Cuore Meridiano”. He joined the “Human” showcase in Catania with Franco Battiato.
